Format

Anyone who's racing needs to come to the check-in at  Albuquerque Dragway. DO NOT BE LATE, as we have a cut off time and no tolerance if you are not present or checked in.

Check In Start Times

LET  IT EAT & GATEKEEPER'S 10:30 AM
HEAVY HITTERS & BIG BOYS 12 PM
STREET FIGHTER & SLOWPOKES 1 PM

At that time you can register, check in, get your car teched and check out people's rides. You can ask questions, learn about the classes, choose your classes, receive your call out ticket, and first-round brackets will be chosen. (If you don’t know someone by name, you can call out by car) Depending on how many people are in your class, we will call out half that amount in tickets. If an odd number, someone will have a bye run. If your number is called, you get to call someone out in your class. They cannot turn down a call out, but they do get lane choice. Call out process repeats at the track until the last 2 are paired the lane choice will be decided by the fastest time of the last race. Next round of call outs, winners must return immediately after the race to get new tickets. Please do not lose your first round of tickets after they have been given to you, you will just slow down the process.

Tech

As soon as racers get to the meet and greet spot they must get their tech card at check-in at the AOCO booth. Be sure you are aware of what will be needed for your car. Fire jackets, helmets, cages, etc. It is the driver's responsibility to know what the track rules are. Call Outs

Probably the most pivotal part of this race. They work like this: Everyone will receive a numbered raffle ticket. If there are 10 cars in a class, 5 tickets will be called; 20 cars, 10 tickets and so on… If your ticket gets called, you get to call out who you want to race. Maybe go for the fast guys first? Maybe go for what you think are the slower cars first? The choice is yours, but choose wisely! NO ONE CAN REFUSE A CALL OUT. When we are at the track lining cars up and doing the call outs please be present. Pay attention! If you are not present we will disqualify you. It’s a pain in the ass to hunt people down, line them up when they are hanging out with their friends on the other side. Don’t come to us saying I’m sorry I didn't hear. Cars will have shoe polish marker put on them to decipher what class they are in. Once at the track racers can enjoy complimentary BBQ, and drinks while they last at the AOCO tent.

Mandatory Drive 

There is a mandatory drive once your call outs are done. This year we changed it up and everyone will do a drive from the track. Yes, you can trailer your cars to the track and unload. The car must make the drive under it's own power. Everyone will leave as a group with a pace car with their class, then head back to the track and park in your designated area. If you are pulled over by the police on the way out there for being stupid, then you forfeit. Be careful. When they open up lanes for test passes, only Big Boys and Heavy Hitters get 2 test passes pre race start. Let It Eat & Gatekeeper's test passes are during the start of the race. Depending on the number of cars this could take a bit so we need to limit the passes to two. You will receive a card that will get a hole punched for your test passes.

Start The Race

After your 2 test runs (DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS AND CAR COUNT! Big Boys, Heavy Hitters will get test hits on race day before the race, Slowpokes and Street Fighter will need to test at Test and Tune Friday night. (Let it Eat will have shakedown runs during the beginning of the race). Please listen to the announcements for line up and listen to the staff in the lanes lining cars up. After your race, BOTH RACERS, report immediately to the Call Out tent to check in your times and receive a new ticket if you won. If you do not show up we can disqualify you.
